Hot Town, Summer In The City…

by Mary ~ June 26th, 2008. Filed under: Uncategorized.

I know I promised I wouldn’t update this summer, but thanks to O’Melveny and Myers, my bar preparation experience has been glorious, and I am not being facetious.

First of all, had I been in Hoboken, I most certainly would have been distracted by going to the gym, yoga, cleaning, Mere concerts, summer festivals, computer toys, Robin, Vickie, Asha, Tom, Hannah, Claire, Maritza, and, during the few moments when she is not at work, Tricia.

However, I have been transplanted to corporate housing in D.C., where there is a maid to clean for me, Safeway to delivery my groceries, a door man to bring the mail, a Starbucks across the street and absolutely NO FRIENDS!!!  Even Scott and Elizabeth are saving lives at all hours in the morning!

As for Red, he wakes up before I do (big change) and he rarely makes it home before 9 p.m. (which, mind you, is far earlier than he would come if he were in the NY office).

However, the routine has been wonderful.  We usually take a long evening run together through the National Mall until the Daily Show starts and we usually go to sleep after the Colbert Report.

Thanks to the iPod self-study program (as opposed to have to attend classes every day) I can study at my own pace.  Well, me being the sickeningly disciplined person that I am, I only have three lectures to go (of 32) and am two weeks ahead of schedule.

Put simply, I thought this was going to be much worse, but so far it has been really pleasant!

So that is my update for the curious minds who want to know.   Back to work!
